Theoretical cure
This project had to be the toughest yet interesting project. I researched a lot about genetic disease. My group eliminated possible subjects for our "theoretical cure." Eventually we came up with a common (compared to the others) disease that has real significance to me personally: Type 1 diabetes. My family tree on both side have passed down diabetes, and a few different forms of cancer. Because of the effort, and professional research going into a possible cure for type 1, it was very hard to think of a creative yet brilliant solution. I however, came across an interesting development for diabetics; the diabetic patch. We thought the patch was the best option for diabetics because it wasn't a in the way, and was connected directly to the bloodstream. Our patch would be able to detect the slightest change in blood sugar and secrete the insulin to stabilize the levels.
